MARATONA BTT POVOA VARZIM

On 11OUT08, I, my son Richard, nephew Peter, and constant companions in labors Bttistas, Estrada de Sousa, Carlos Amaro, Jorge Fonseca and Borges, there participated in the 2nd MTB Marathon City Povoa. 09H30m the point was given for the departure and after walking a few streets of the city of Povoa, there plucked us back to true marathon. Entered the marathon tracks by old line of Railway and climbed Mount St. Felix. Climb hard, and although we still have only done very few kilometers, as many of BTTistas, made the ascent on foot. Then he went down on one single tracks and dirt roads, some technical, so after a mixed parallel with rachão, passing by houses, there we enter again into the pine forest to do the second ascent, by means of this lot, which made her even more BTTistas, pushing their mounts. Then we continued down the road, the tarmac, standing at intersections, personal organization to regulate traffic so that there were no accidents with BTTistas. 20 Kms to sensilvamente there was a gas station with plenty of water, oranges, energy bars, some drums with a sugary drink and minerals. We continue to roll in a mixed plan, until we find the 2nd control station, which was set with a 2nd gas station. In addition to the petrol station that had earlier, also had someone to slice a magnificent ham, and a garrafitas Champagne. Continued to roll in a marathon plan without major difuculdades the way to the City of Povoa, where he entered the city towards the goal, the tarred road until near the Bullring. Well for me it was the worst marathon ever did, I still could not understand what happened, because already a few kilometers of testing, with a weariness that was only seen. Looked like it had already done the test and who was in the second round. In my mind I wanted to walk but my legs, my arms, I ached all, I just wished that the goal was already there. This marathon was the debut of my new pedals fit as well as my new shoes, my son Ricardo also also debuted pedals and shoes fit. When acquired, as a joke, the shop owner said that typically these materials are accompanied by a minimum of 3 falls. I have with me the completed, my son Ricardo also fell. Also we all we were to debut the new equipment, but by bureaucratic difuculdades was not possible to get them. For those who want to see just go to "forumbtt" and go to "event promotion" "Marathon Povoa de Varzim" and look for NICNAME SOLRAC40. It was also the first marathon where I had holes, not one, but two much space in a very few kilometers, was the first to take the tube and replace it, having saved by chance I took the camera, because soon after stuck I think they blew the air chamber, and if it had not initially took, had not completed the proof. Of course I had to patch the inner tube with a curito. It was a good marathon, well organized, with good supplies, with very good security for the athletes and a meal that was very good. I recognize that the price of this marathon is not low, even the highest, which is practiced in Portugal, but with the quality that presented us think it was worth it. For the year if I can I'll be there for the 3rd Povoa do Varzim marathon. For the record I was the last team of the future called ALCATEIADAMATRIZ.
