This year of 2023, I returned to the Path. As agreed with Artur Marques, with Carlos Osório in January 2023, we return to do the Camino de Santiago. As always the logistics of the accommodation and route was in charge of Artur Marques, who again marked the accommodation of the first day in Valença, the second in Caldas de Reis and the return in Sabaris. The adventure began on July 11 and only ended on the 14th, that is, 4 days of pedaling, with the following route. Day 1: Porto to Valença with overnight stay at Mabi hotel. We already know the Hotel, and the service is very good and with good facilities. 2nd day from Valença to Caldas de Reis with overnight at Hotel Sena. We also already know the Hotel and like the previous one also deserves our recognition. 3rd day Caldas de Reis to Santiago with return to Vigo, and then to Sabaris, with overnight stay at the Hotel Vasco da Gama, which we also already know and we stayed there for the same reasons as the previous ones. 4th day from Sabaris to Porto. It was 6 in the morning when I met with Artur Marques and there we set out to go to Carlos Osório in the agreed place to start another adventure, which has already become routine and by the prospect of Artur Marques will be repeated every year until the forces do not give to do so. This time the three "Bicigrinos" decided to change the route and try a new route for the Camino de Santiago, because as someone says the "Way is done Walking/Biking and all the paths go to Santiago" just for that the staff want. This time the malta decided to go by the road to Valença (Porto, Vila do Conde, Povoa do Varzim, Esposende, Viana, Caminha (lunch place, next to the Camarido forest) Vila Nova de Cerveira and Valença. We took the opportunity to explore the Ecopista that connects Caminha to Valença and that's where the three "Quotas" went. Well it was breathtaking, because it's the best. Always next to the Minho River with many shadows and very well marked and after a few kilometers there we arrived at Vila Nova de Cerveira and then we went to Valença always next to the River. When we arrived in Valença, we stopped at a café and as the heat tightened and we were at the destination, we were reliving the adventures of the day and sipping some beers, since when the malta went to the Hotel we would still take a bath in the pool of the Hotel. the second day we took the opportunity to follow the National 550 to Porrinho, and then continue to Redondela by the same route, and we had lunch next to the Sampaio Bridge (by chance we had lunch very well, contrary to what happens in Spain). After lunch we resumed the path, but this time already on the traditional path, that is, we would climb the mountain range that separates Ponte Sampaio to Pontevedra, a place known by the Bicigrinos as the "Little Labrujinha" due to in some sections we have to walk with the Bikes there hand. Before we arrived in Pontevedra, Artur Marques, who this year made the Way on Foot, decided to present a "new route", through a forest where a stream of crystal clear water circulated. Of course where there is crystal clear water soon Carlos Osório decides to "tonar a Banhoca" and that's what the malta did, some wetting their little feet and Carlos Osório all in the water, with the many pilgrims enjoying the spectacle of a "Cota" with cycling equipment bathing. After the bath, and after a few minutes, there we were in Pontevedra. After the inevitable stamp in the church there we headed on the way to Caldas de Reis, by the route that we have already done many times. Arriving in Caldas de Reis, there were the three "Quotas" to bathe in the pool of the Hotel Sena and then dinner and to end the day drink a Star of Galicia. On the third day we headed towards Padron and this time we also went by the 550, along the way we had the company of a Bicigrino with road bike that was from an Eastern Country. With the malta pedaled to Padron, where as usual we would drink something and stamp the "Credential" in Café do Manolo. It was the desiluzão since apparently and by information taken from people in the area the "Manolo" died, soon the path became poorer, having lost one of the greatest "ex libres" of the Camainho and the Pilgrims. We returned to the path and there we headed to Santiago and after a few kilometers appeared a café that the malta already stops every time the "Maison do Pulpo". We sent for some beers and were presented with a pasta with minced meat and Bolognese sauce, which was very good, causing the malt to drink another round. We continue on the Camino de Santiago and a few kilometers from the destination we stop at a café. We ordered a beer for each one and soon the maid presents us with some bowls of feijoada, which reminded us of the "Tripas à moda do Porto", causing the malta to have drunk one more beer each. We follow the Way and there we arrive there is Praça Obradoiro, place of termination of the Camino de Santiago. After stamping the "Pilgrim's Credential", we head to the Santiago Train Station, to take the train to Vigo. It is worth making the trip on the regional train, because it follows mostly along the Ria de Vigo, being the trip very beautiful. Arriving in Vigo, we went towards Baiona, passing by the beaches of Vigo and if there is a beach, then Carlos Osório takes the opportunity for the usual bath. We go back to the beach where last year the malta bathed. After the bath was the continuation by the Ecopista that connects Vigo to Sabaris. When we arrived at Sabaris the weather was changing and no longer gave to the usual Bath. On the fourth day, the weather was not famous, something loaded and falling a weak drizzle, but something was not right, for the wind blew from the south and when it is so... After a few kilometers from Bayonne it began to rain, more to rain with a south wind that only seen and felt and went like this to La Guardia. In La Guardia, we crossed the Minho River in the Taxi Boat that last year crossed us and arrived in Caminha, we still considered taking the Train to Porto, since it rained a lot and we went to the Railway station. It was no use because there was a strike of the trains, so we would have to make the way by bike to Porto with the lot of rain that fell. We came to lunch in Neiva, in a restaurant that we already know and after lunch there we returned to our martyrdom rain in abundance accompanied by strong wind coming from the south. It was a terrifying return, because we arrived in Porto truly as they say in the slang "Some real Chicks". Ready was finished another adventure to Santiago, this time by a different "Way", but that also gave us joy to do. Now it is to wait for the rest of the months to pass so that in January Artur marques begins to plan a New Way to that as always happens in recent years will always become different because the "Way is made by walking" and all roads lead to Santiago de Compostela.

Before we walk there is location of the tour site.
The Adeganha is located in the mountainous part that rises over the vast expanse of the valley of Vilariça. In its term appeared countless archaeological remains, demonstrating to have a very old settlement since the prehistoric times.
Popularly, the name of the village is explained by the name through a history associated with the "three-Marias ", three figures carved in stone in the frontal of the mother church. The three-Marys were shepherdesses and while the sheep grazed they used to play cards. But one of them always won, because it played with "Manha ". The other sisters decided to take revenge and made a fire to burn her alive. When she was trying to get out, the sisters wouldn't leave and say, "Burn and win! ", "Burn and Win!". And from here came the name of Adeganha.
The Tour
The tour is organized by the group Sports recreational and Cultural of Adeganha and the invitation was made by the Companion of the tens of the weekend BTT, the Marques, companion that all the last 3 years did with me the paths of Santiago with beginning in the city of Port.
As can be verified by the geographic location and the terrain where the tour was made, it would not be easy, because if the site is in a mountainous location with deep valleys... Well I can only say that in the MTB classification, it is at level 4/4 or up to 5/5.
At 9:00 a.m., after a lecture given by Marques, began the tour, were about 40 bttists, because the club still has no structure to accommodate more, not only due to, still in the construction of the clubhouse, as other infrastructures.
We left the village and soon began a descent with a few kilometers, on ground floor baptized with loose stone, technique, but that the Bttists had fun to do, because as someone says, "down All Saints help". It continued on dirt trails in a flat area, because we had reached a valley, but after a few kilometers, soon began one of the difficulties of the tour, a climb, not much ingreme, but due to its extension... There is also a widely used expression in mountain biking that states that "after a descent there is always a climb". Continued the tour passing through a neighboring village of Adeganha, to then appear a new descent, well if there was a descent wanted to say that next there would be a... Of course ascent, also of grinding muscles, for it was long. The location of the food reinforcement was approaching, arranged by the people of the village, by a very good sign and with everything that a BTTista, who already has in his legs about 25 kilometers, needs to continue the tour. There were still about 15 kilometers that by the description of Marques would be more lenients in the issues of ascents and downhill. They were but if the first part were long climbs these were short, not very violent, but in one rises and descends (type Carrocel), which wears a lot of muscles, already something tired. At the end of 3h 31m and with an accumulated ascent of 1842 meters and 1800 meters of descent, we arrived (me and the Marques) there is village again.
We were next to take a tempering bath, and drink some minis, because even though it wasn't too hot, it was muffled and we were a little dehydrated. After bathing, we participated in the lunch conviviality that the village organized.
As it could not fail to be, it was very good, with very beautiful landscapes and very well received, or not to be the catch of the Gentes people of Trás-os-Montes, to receive their guests as only they receive.
Very good, and for those who like MTB always in the road of beaten land with climbs and downhill allied to very beautiful landscapes can only make these rides.
Some photos of the tour and map with the route of the tour.

Proof that I attended a few years ago. It was really good and it was worth it. The following year I became a part of it, but then there was no further evidence, which leaves a miss.
In this proof besides me Pariciparam, my son Ricardo Soares, my nephew Pedro and a friend of work Pereira.

And on Sunday 12 August 2019, I, my brother Henrique, and friends Fernando Reis and Pedro, all members of BOMBIKERS, went on a Sunday tour of the lands of Maia. The meeting was as usual in the "Coffee Trigão de Recarei " and by the 9:00 in the morning we were already leaving. As always these tours organized by Fernando Reis, are the best, because as he is also a member of the mountain biking Club of Matosinhos, they are the group that in Oporto, Gaia, Maia de Matosinhos, more trails know and of course we enjoy. It was spectacular and as we always know more new rails and some "very spectacular ".
It was agreed that on the next Sunday the tour was repeated but with more friends of the Sunday pedaling.

I haven't done this ride in a while. As the company of Sundays was not midsized (some of holidays), I decided on "SOLO " make this tour.
As incredible as it seems, I did not like it, because here in Invicta, because of the many "CAMONES/TOURISTS of the CRAP " You can not take a bike ride on Sunday afternoon.
The funniest of the question is that on the avenue Gustavo Eiffel the "parking " of the car is even "WILD ", because the cars are "PARKED " on the sidewalk, and as by the city what counts are the "CAMONES/TOURISTS of the CRAP ", the police does not act, Keeping the "Wild parking " This with the Conivência of the Municipal Camara do Porto and Policia MUNICIAPL (entity that should oversee this BALBURDIA).
It was not enough on Avenida da Boavista, next to Pingo Doce and in front of the Bingo of Boavista the cars are PARKED on the bike path, also now the same goes on the tours of Gustavo Eiffel, between the Bridge of D. Luis and D ª Maria.

On July 14, 1919, my brother Henrique, Fernando and Pedro, I went to a Photographic Raid organized by the Matosinhos MTB Club. For some time I was not participating in an organized event, but as Fernando is a member of the Club and challenged the rest of the staff to participate in the event…
It was about 08 am and we were already four at Fernando's residence and there we started to the place of the beginning of the Raide (which was at the headquarters of the Matosinhos MTB Club, located very close to the Parque Real). After a coffee on the way to headquarters, we arrived and some club members were just setting up the secretariat and raid start location.
As is always the case at these events, some more participants and more members of the club began to appear, and even some acquaintances of the MTB business, which I had not seen for some time. At about 8:45 am we went to the Raid secretariat and after distributing the fronts we waited patiently for the start. Of course there was one of the members of the group that was in "fleas", which was Pedro, because for the first time he was going to participate and so he was looking forward to the raid.
Around 09H the race started and after about 2 minutes on goal the four started the raid.
The raid consisted of following a previously marked track and using a GPS track to follow that trail, having to take pictures of the marked places to prove the passage through these places. In all there were about 17 crossing points all located in the municipality of Matosinhos, making the total route in a distance of about 35 kilometers.
As a navigator, Fernando demonstrated that he was well willing to “read” the GPS track, as well as regaining some of his physical form, as he was standing for some time. It was also in this Raid that he debuted his new "what a machine" machine where almost all participants laid their eyes.
The four always happy, we were following the trail, taking pictures, and when we arrived near the Car Bridge, which crosses the Leça River, was a supply with fruits, cakes, waters etc. We follow a spectacular trail along the Leça River on the way to the end of the raid.
The group concluded the Raide, around 12h45, and after controlling the time and viewing the photos to confirm the route traveled in its entirety, we are waiting for the barbecue that the Matosinhos MTB Club would offer participants.
It was a very good barbecue, of course all the Bttistas who participated in the event fraternized and recounted their adventures in Raide.
It was very good, and it was worth this conviviality, because for the group it mattered nothing more than the pleasure of riding a bike, along with a few other companions that appeared. I was pleased with my race as I had returned the previous week from Santiago de Compostela and was afraid of experiencing some difficulties during the course. Thanks to Fernando for the invitation, and thanks to my Brother Henrique and Pedro for the company during this Raid.

1ª ETAPA DO DIA – PORTO A RATES – 35 Quilómetros.
2ª ETAPA DO DIA – RATES A BARCELOS – 17 Quilómetros.
3ª ETAPA DO DIA – BARCELOS – PONTE DE LIMA – 35 Quilómetros.
4ª ETAPA DO DIA – PONTE DE LIMA – CASA DA CAPELA (S. BENTO – RUBIAES)
A Labruja.

1ª ETAPA DO DIA – CASA DA CAPELA – VALENÇA – PORRINHO – 21.5 Quilómetros.
11H15M (hora Espanhola).
2ª ETAPA DO DIA – PORRINHO – REDONDELA – 16 Quilómetros.
Carimbadas as credenciais e almoçados…
3ª ETAPA DO DIA – REDONDELA – PONTEVEDRA - 18 Quilómetros.
Claro carimbadas as credenciais, logo o grupo arrancou.
4ª ETAPA DO DIA – PONTEVEDRA – CALDAS DE REIS – 23 Quilómetros
5ª ETAPA DO DIA – CALDAS DE REIS – PADRON – 18.5 Quilómetros

And on July 5, 2019 the Adventure began.
It was 6 am and it was already on foot. Given the latest checks on the machine (full suspension Rock Machine Adrenaline 3500 bike), I headed there to meet Jorge Picão who was waiting for me at the gas station at Av. Xanana Gusmão in Matosinhos. Then the 2 followed to the Standard where Marques, Rui and Nelson were waiting for us. We continued on our way to Guardeiras where friend Ruela was already there, who was going to do the Way for the first time with the group. We continued and only 2 friends were missing, Osorio and Vitor, who were waiting for us in the Industrial area of Guardeiras.
After all gathered, we went there on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, it was 7 am.

DAY 1 STAGE - PORTO A RATES - 35 Kilometers.
It is a stage without large gaps, the hardest part, if some understand it is the ascent just after the Zameiro Bridge (Rio Ave), which is not large. Then it's rolling to Rates. The group made the plan, having arrived around 09H45M, at the "Macedos Bar" where the credentials were stamped.

DAY 2 STAGE - RATES TO BARCELOS - 17 Kilometers.
At 09 o'clock we were already on our way to Barcelos, which were traveled in about 1 hour and 30 minutes, as it presents no major difficulties, is moving as some say and how well prepared the group… After stamped the credentials, taken a few coffee with some cream (very good by the way) and some pictures with the “Celebres Roosters”, we follow.

DAY 3 - BARCELOS - LIMA BRIDGE - 35 Kilometers.
It was about 10H50M when we started. Also in the first part of the Step is rolling, it does well. Then comes the Tamel zone, well Tamel is Tamel as they say. One of the difficulties of the day begins, the climb to the hostel. Despite climbing the group remained cohesive and in a good mood. After Tamel again flat, on the way to the Roman Bridge "Car Bridge", which crosses the Neiva River. It is in this place (River Beach) that every year the group threatens to bathe in the clear waters of Rio, but this year also did not happen. As someone says, "Stay for the year." We continue the journey and begins another difficulty, new climb, shorter than Tamel. At the top, a dizzying descent begins on the way to the national road that connects Viana do Castelo to Ponte de Lima. After about 150 meters of traffic on the road, entering the road always rolling (since it is flat) until reaching Ponte de Lima, it was about 13H15M. The group went to the Alameda Restaurant (where they have lunch every year) to taste a Sarrabulho Rice and a Red Green.

4th STAGE OF THE DAY - LIMA BRIDGE - CASA DA CAPELA (S. BENTO - RUBIAES)
It was about 2:45 pm, and the group began the hardest step of the day. The Labruja As someone says Labruja is Labruja and the Way without Labruja is not the way. It is at this stage that one sees who is doing well or who is doing well. It's flat up to the trout pond, it's up and down to Labruja Village (where in 'Tasco' the pack stopped (to fill the water jugs) and also drink a 'mug of Red Green'.) then afterwards it is always upwards. After a few kilometers it appears what all who make the way say “The Cross of the French.” It continues to rise and after a few hundred meters appears a “black tube” that gives off water. every time the group has gone to Santiago, they "bathe" in the tube and fill the drums. Then it's them. It starts to climb, but no one can climb on top of the bike, it has to be the "carry" to whom "carried" us there. There are about 400 meters of steep climb, which are made with difficulty, because who goes in full autonomy, carries extra weight, or the saddlebags or backpacks. At the top, we find the "House of the Guard" , with your fresh water tank. We continue travel and start to desc way, in the first meters something dangerous, but then it is always giving up to Rubiães. In Rubiães, before starting the “final” climb to Casa da Capela (about 4 kilometers from Rubiães), we stamped the credentials at the Peregrino's restaurant, with the group marking the Dinner. The last 4 kilometers to the “Chapel House” where the group would stay overnight are always more difficult, as we already have about 118 kilometers on our legs, and since we are all Thirty, Forty, Fifty and Sixty, it costs a little more. , but as someone said "we have to do". Arriving at “Casa da Capela”, around 19H15M, the group took the opportunity to enjoy the pool and then go to dinner and rest, because the next day would also be a lot of cycling.

In all the group on this first day pedaled 122 kilometers which is not bad for a "quota".

And on July 6th the Adventure continued.
It was 7 am and the group was already preparing for the stages of the day.

1st STAGE OF THE DAY - HOUSE OF THE CHAPEL - VALENCIA - PORRINHO - 21.5 Kilometers.
At 08H00, the “Casa da Capela” group started, for a stage that is also moving and about 700 meters later, the descent begins to Valença, something technical, but as the group already knows it well… On the descent to Valença a of the group members have a “slight” malfunction, the crankset screw was “loose”. After repairing the "breakdown" followed the group on flat ground to Valença (Last Portuguese city). We stamp the credentials, we have a coffee and wing that is late, because from there (Tui - Spain is one more time than in Portugal) Arrived at the Cathedral of Tui, the usual photos, stamp the credentials and continue travel. Then is to enter the Via Romana and follow to Porrinho, this time by the new "path" that is quite beautiful. Arriving in Porrinho, we went to stamp the credentials and drink something, because the weather is inviting to such. They were about. 11:15 AM (Spanish time).

2nd STAGE OF THE DAY - PORRINHO - ROUNDELAIN - 16 Kilometers.
Mixed stage, rolling to Mos, but after ... Well after the hostel is that Mos. Rise, rise and more rise. Arrived at a picnic park at the top of the climb, the group stopped, supplied water and began the descent to Roundelain. But that descent, steep, something dangerous, and must be done with caution, because as it is on tar, the crowd has a tendency to "abuse a little". Then about 2 kilometers from Roundelain is flat. Arriving in Roundelain around 13H (Spanish), the group went to Hamburgueria where last year had lunch. Stamped credentials and lunches… The Redondela group left at 2:30 pm, after being well eaten and drunk.

DAY 3 - ROUNDELAIN - PONTEVEDRA - 18 Kilometers.
Also a mythical stage, because the group laughed to pass to Labrujinha (name given by the Bttistas, as it also has to ride with the Bike in hand). It is the mountain that separates Redondela from Pontevedra and is also difficult, starting right from the “brave” ascent that follows the “Ponte Sampaio”. In a cafe just off the bridge it bears a sign that states that in the next 12 kilometers there is nothing to eat and drink, meaning there will only be the possibility of eating already in Pontevedra. The group arrived at about 5:15 pm. Of course stamped the credentials, soon the group started.

4th STAGE OF THE DAY - PONTEVEDRA - CALDAS DE REIS - 23 Kilometers.
This stage is also moving, but also exhausting, as the path begins to meander through the many villages, resulting in a crossing of the National Road that connects Vigo to Santiago. But of course, with a clear pace where we could see that we were already very close to the final destination of the day, the group pedaled, pedaled and always in a good mood. The group arrived at 7:05 pm and after stamping the credentials, rumor to Padron last stage of the day.

DAY 5 - DAY CALDAS - PADRON - 18.5 Kilometers
Deceive anyone who thinks this step is easy. It is not, because despite not having great climbs, it becomes exhausting, because as the group already goes with many kilometers in the legs ... It is a very beautiful stage, because we have to cross a forest that someone in the group dubbed "Enchanted Forest" because it is very pretty. Going back in time a few years ago my brother Henrique Soares and I, my wedge Paula, Jose Xavier and my niece's niece crossed it, but today it was raining pots in this forest. After the forest, the group arrived in Pontessures, where Nestlé has a factory, it was only about 4 kilometers to Padron, where the group would rest and stay at the Scalla hotel. The group arrived at about 8:15 pm at the hotel and even gave Osorio and Vitor a swim in the Hotel's pool, while the rest of the crowd went to their rooms for a refreshing shower and then dinner.

In all the group cycled on this second day 97 kilometers

And on July 7th the group continued to end demand

LAST STAGE - PADRON - SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA - 22 Kilometers
It was agreed the day before that the group would leave for the last leg at 9 am. This last stage is only 22 kilometers that were made at a very calm pace, talking to each other telling the adventures of the last days. It is also a rolling step having only a few minor difficulties, but they do well. This is usually the stage where most pilgrims meet on the way. The idea (and was credited) was to arrive in Santiago de Compostela around 11 am, then go to the Pilgrim's Lodge to take the Diplomas, as we follow the Camino de Santiago by bicycle. Goal accomplished, and everyone was happy to have completed the trip, something that happens to all who can reach, both by bike and on foot, when they arrive at Obradouro square and look at the magnificent cathedral, which this year was already washed away . Of course the group took the usual picture with the Cathedral as background. After the group had been to the Pilgrim Lodge and as it was about 1 pm and hunger was straining, Marques asked an element of the shop's security where to eat, after receiving instructions, we headed to the indicated restaurant. where we ate well and not having been expensive. At 4 pm we left Santiago de Compostela on the way to Senhora da Hora, in a car that brought us to the whole group and bicycles. We arrived around 7 pm. The adventure of the Camino de Santiago of 2019 was over. To all those involved in this Adventure, some already 3 times the way done, others already 2, thank you, for the availability, the company, the help and fun that we all enjoy. (cycling) and above all for the year are available for a “New Adventure” in the Caminhos de Santiago.
Suffice it to say that in these two days and one morning the group made about 244 kilometers, which is not bad for a group where the average age is 50 years. Of course some are sixty, some nearly sixty, some nearly fifty.
And for the year there will be more, as the group is projecting the way to Santiago de Compostela, but go to Muxia or Finisterre, but to do in 3 or 4 days.

And in March of 2019 I, Carlos Alberto Osório, Artur Felizardo Marques, went to do another trip to Ponte de Lima. It is to know the way of Santiago taking advantage to eat a delicacy of the City that is the Rice of Sarrabulho. The train journey from Porto to Nine using the Urban Train to Braga is passable, as CP reviewers do not raise problems on the issue of bikes. after Nine to Tamel the thing complicates a little because the train according to the CP is not compatible to carry more than two bicycles and as we were three ... Well with a few words to the reviewer and a good sense of the part of the same one in the let him board.
Departed in Tamel there we did on the Road to Ponte de Lima, which is not recorded.
After lunch, we started the return to Porto, using the Cycle Route along the Rio Lima, which is one of the best in landscapes. Arriving in Darque we decided to make the journey until there is Povoa do Varzim by the national Nº13.
It was a good workout.

And in April I, Carlos Osorio and Artur Felizardo Marques, we decided to do another training of preparation for the trip to Santiago de Compostela. This time the tour would be from Estarreja to Porto, doing the same through the EcoVia rails along the Aveiro river, this tour is very beautiful because the EcoVia is always near the Ria de Aveiro to the Furadouro, then entering the Mata de Cortegaça , crossing the Barrinha de Esmoriz, passing through Espinho to Porto.
It is also a walking tour, easy to do for those who are minimally prepared and it is to do in a whole day so that one can appreciate the magnificent landscapes.
I advise you to make this trip, and if you do not want to do it to the port, you can always go from Estarreja to Ovar or again to Estarreja.
You can use the Train because as the same is Urban, the Reviewers usually do not raise many problems.

And on 02JUN2019 the group that goes to Santiago de Compostela on 05, 06 and return in 07JUN2019, went to do another light training.
We went to the Pavões trail, a trail discovered by Xavier, a member of the Porto Roda Group and my brother Henrique Soares, a member of the Bombikers group, which I also belong to.
It is a tour that all two groups and friends do regularly and of which we have much to do, because it has a mix of rolling (in tar and parallel) and land, passing by some eucalyptus from the zone of the City of Maia.
Here is a map of the Peak Route trail.
Algumas fotos do evento.

On Saturday August 8, 2015, became to realize the DHU NIGHT in Laúndos, City parish of Povoa do Varzim, which is about 30 kilometers from the city of Porto. The proof is like always at Mount S. Félix, using the marble staircase and a little dirt track and a so many obstacles mounted by the Organization. There are about 700 meters downhill, exciting and often very public to attend, since this time, many are immigrants through the area and take advantage to see the Drivers that normally appear to perform the test.
This year the organization has improved the track obstacles, having built some that have made the most demanding descent to the technical level. construction on the steps of the stairs, which was marked with the nu
One of the new obstacles was on the stairs and consisted of a leap to a wood mber of meters that pilots roamed in flight. Another who was a gap of about three meters in which pilots had to jump into a reception and the last consisted of a table with about 3 meters high in which pilots could pass the obstacle without walking on the table.
These obstacles made the event much more appealing to the public and more demanding for the drivers, it required much concentration on the course to do.
They appeared in this race that counted for the DHU Regional Championship Port Cycling Association, about 90 riders divided into the various categories.
How could I be my son Ricardo, was a participant and now in its third participation in this test. It was fun could see some new riders who showed up. At the end my son Ricardo was in the middle of the table.

Aqui ficam algumas fotos desta aventura.

For some time the group walked with the idea of making the paths of Santiago, following the "famous yellow arrows" from the Cathedral of Oporto to Santiago de Compostela, with their bikes.
The route is all marked and the distance is about 240 kilometers, which would be covered in four days and one morning, returning the group to Porto, a van of 9 rented places.
The elements that made this "adventure" were my brother Henrique Soares, his wife Ana Paula Magalhães, the niece Barbara Teles, the friend José Xavier and me.
The output was on June 28, 2015, the Cathedral of Porto, by 7:30 am and for a few kilometers the group had the company of two friends of the labors of the bike turns the weekend belonging to the mountain bike club Matosinhos.
2nd STAGE
At 7 am, as the group gave the finishing touches on the bikes and soon after was already back on the Path.
The step would be to Tamel Rubiães which gave a distance of about 50 kilometers, that would be very, very hard because the group would have to do to celebrate saw Labruja.
In this way from Tamel the Ponte de Lima is mostly flat, which does something fast. The group reached the Ponte de Lima, some group members took the opportunity to take a bath in the river Lima and then went to lunch at a restaurant next to the Pilgrim Hostel for after lunch and as it was very hot, we decided to go for a shade along the Rio Lima, for around 16 hours of launch again on the way in order to make the climbs of Labruja, as with the cooler weather.
At 16 hours was already the group on the way and to see the "Celebrate Serra da Labruja" approaching, was beginning to give that tingling in the group, it is the stage, hardest of all. This year Labruja was infernal, because besides the always tough climbs and combined with the heat that was felt at that time, also the last part of the way, (the access to the Dead Cruz) was really, really hard, I would say Infernal. It was very hard for the carriage of bicycles, sometimes had to be transported to the shoulder, so that the group could move the rocks and slopes that exist. After these difficulties, there came the group to the top having rested a bit and exchanging ideas, because the descent is also very dangerous. Down the whole group with increased caution and was continuing the way to Rubiães. Having reached Rubiães was the group to also stay at the Pilgrim Hostel, but due to not be anyone to greet us and register and also because the hygiene of the same was not the best, we decided to seek alternative accommodation, which my brother Henrique Soares , decided in about 15 minutes. The group ended up staying in a villa rented to a lady about 50 meters from the Hostel. After a bath, we had dinner, again being the same made by the ladies. A few more words to define the time of dawn and how they would make the third stage, we were all sleeping.
3rd STEP
Again at 7 am since the group was on its way. The step would be Rubiães the Redondela, as in neighboring Spain, the distance of about 50 kilometers. The day looming up warm, despite being morning fog and step would be mostly flat, exeto the last 12 kilometers that would be with a rise of about 3 kilometers, also very hard but with good floor for bikes.
The route is initially by lot and just got in urban areas when we come to Valencia, where we had lunch in a restaurant, which by the way gave us at the end with an account something hard, was it expensive for what the group ate and drank. Then it was still way through the interior of Valencia Citadel through the International Bridge over the River Minho, soon to be in Spain. Followed by Porriño, (has a line of about 2 kilometers), which seems never ending, going the way to always be in urban areas and to cross sometimes the road going towards Vigo. Arrived in Mos, begins the most difficult of the day, as well tough climb, but when it gets to the top, what has happened something worn, it was doing a very technical descent, something dangerous, only to be flat to Redondela.
It was also decided to stay in the Hostel for pilgrims, but the Spanish official, who does not like cyclists, then began by saying that only had a bed, (since the last time I went to Santiago said the same). Decided to go to a private Hostel and my brother Henrique Soares, 15 minutes had arranged one. This time the group was dinner at a hamburger and soon returned to the hostel to rest.
4th STEP
At seven since the group was on its way. The step would be to Redondela Padron at a distance of about 50 kilometers and would have another famous passage, second only to Pontevedra, consisting of a rail Roman road, some that have already dubbed "Labrujinha" due to be very similar to the way in Sierra Labruja in Ponte de Lima. It would be another tough stage, with heat and with some hard climbs. Was the group at the beginning of this step uphill and was preparing to leave a "Vieira" one of the few places that exist in the way, when it appears a Portuguese television channel (SIC), which was doing a story on the paths of Santiago de Compostela. They ask the group if they can film the act that José Xavier is doing and if he can be interviewed. After the interview followed the group trip to the coffee Ponte Sampaio, for after making a stop at the cafe headed to the difficulty of the day, celebrated rise in "Labrujinha". Also in this area the bikes have to be carried by hand, it is also very hard but not as hard as in the mountains to Labruja, but also difficult. After this difficulty the path becomes flat, passing between villages, until we get a very wooded area. The time had been changed and threatened rain and it was precisely in this wooded area it started to rain a lot. It rained a lot, with wind and the group was caught right in the middle of the forest. There were about 10 kilometers to Padron and the group knew there was a new hostel in Pontecessures and it was there that all headed and we ended up staying. After another shower to heat, since all were cold, because there is rain picked up, nor will we had to go out to dinner. We ended up a dinner of ham sandwiches and Chourição and cheese, the José Xavier went shopping at a grocery store.
5th STAGE
At 7 o'clock we were all on bikes, already smelled the end of the adventure. This last step would be provided Pontecessures to Santiago de Compostela, a distance of about 25 kilometers, always plans without major difficulties unless the rise celebrated passing along the Santiago de Compostela Hospital. It was part of the route that most pilgrims come. This step was made at a very low speed because everyone has the ressentíamos of kilometers and only had to come will Square Obradoiro at around 12 hours, it would be at this time that two elements of the group in Port Wheel (Joe and Wilhelmina) would be for us to receive. These two elements could not do this adventure, for personal reasons, but made it to fetch the Santiago de Compostela and bring us to our hometown is the city of Porto. When we reached the Obradoiro Square, was a sea of people, we were greeted with applause by a group of Portuguese pilgrims who were also in the square, was Spectacular. We went to lunch and soon dismounted the bike to return to Portugal.
It was an adventure, very beautiful, with a fantastic group who knew overcome all obstacles through the group's unity and camaraderie that existed.
As a final result, in four days' journey the group only had 2 holes (I) and a broken chain (José Xavier), who with the help of all was resolved and we were able to continue their journey.

Here are some pictures of this adventure.
1ª Etapa:
Porto a Tamel.

2ª Etapa:
Tamel a Rubiães.

3ª Etapa:
Rubiães a Pontecessures

4ª Etapa

Is this 2015, specifically on 28 June that more do the Portuguese Way to Santiago de Compostela in autonomy. This time will be in the company of the Oporto on the Wheel (Henrique Soares, my brother, Ana Paula Magalhães, my sister, the niece of my sister and Jose Xavier, local friend where I lived many years (Subdivision of meadows). Also this instead the path will be made in four days, instead of the three that usually the people who do it by bicycle, usually do. I will also carry out this adventure, not with my old bike (ASTRO XTC2 full suspension), but with a ROCK MACHINE, also with full suspension, which my son Ricardo Soares, was kind enough to offer me.
The following steps are planned:
Step 1:
Porto to Tamel.

Step 2:
Tamel to Rubiães.

Step 3:
Rubiães to Pontecessures

Stage 4
Pontecessures to Santiago de Compostela.

The return will be on July 1 in a vehicle that the group rented, as RENFE (Spanish train company), only carries three bikes per train and the CP (Portuguese Train Company) only carries dismantled and packed bicycle, as if they were hand luggage.
How could it be this adventure will be told and after photos will be placed so that they can admire the beautiful landscapes that we will find.COBRABTThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03703000169938278751noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6246905960678995224.post-21202305595382960872015-06-04T20:41:00.001+01:002015-06-04T20:41:47.637+01:00Best'Of - 2º DHU Ponte da Barca | 2015COBRABTThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03703000169938278751noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6246905960678995224.post-369287250366158732015-05-31T22:01:00.001+01:002015-05-31T22:01:43.222+01:002º Downtown Fernão de Magalhãe - Ponte da Barca 24 Maio 2015COBRABTThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03703000169938278751noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6246905960678995224.post-33361864815595737362015-05-25T15:22:00.000+01:002015-05-28T19:06:28.829+01:002º DOWNTOWN FERNANDO DE MAGALHÃESDomingo 24 de Maio de 2015, dia de muito calor, meu filho Ricardo Soares, participou no 2º DownTown Fernando de Magalhães, que se realizou na Vila de Ponte da Barca.
Algumas fotos.

Sunday May 24, 2015, hot day, my son Ricardo Soares, participated in the 2nd DownTown Fernando Magellan, held in Ponte da Barca Village.
Ponte da Barca, is a village bathed in the Lima River and is located in the Sub-Region Minho Lima and is a beautiful village with a medieval bridge and some monuments.
Downtown had beginning with the football field and ran the streets and alleys of historiography center being the target set by the lima river, participated about 87 riders divided by the different classes. As always the most represented class is the Elites, where is my son (Ricardo), with about 40 riders.
The course was well designed, with well assembled obstacles and very well marked and with an exemplary organization, because all times were met.
Free practice began the 10 am and was felt some heat, which could see how they would be the sort sleeves in the afternoon. All morning the riders did the training to learn the track and train the best paths to address the jumps and even fine tune their bikes. Note that the morning practice, already watched very public, mainly along a staircase in granite, the pilots had to descend to cross a street, plus a granite staircase and then a mounted falls within the organization to the left. This part of the route, which was more focused audience, both in free practice as the sort sleeves, for it was one of the best areas to enjoy the dexterity of these pilots, as well as to take pictures, that despite the goal being also very public to see the arrival and taking time pilots. This proves my son (Ricardo), although not ride the train up or behaves badly, for the first timed descent that made with some caution, and the time was not even too bad, remaining slightly below the middle of the league table. In the second descent, he has made more in pace of other times and as such have resulted in improved time of the first leg at about 9/2 what caused rise in the overall standings table. In the final standings of the two sleeves, it turned out to be above the middle of the table, which was not bad. It was a Sunday well spent as a family and has to meet a beautiful village with very friendly locals, the prerogative of the inhabitants of Minho.
Algumas fotos.

On Sunday, April 12, 2015, I, my brother Henrique Soares, my sister Paula, and friends Joseph Xavier and Fernanda, all elements of the Port Group in the wheel, we did a tour called "Route of the Peacocks". There were about 46 kilometers, most covered in the Mayan council. This route, marked by José Xavier, which had the help of Fernando Reis, a member of MTB Club Matosinhos, is of medium difficulty, but has some climbs, not being too prominent, are long and wear by its size. Also this route passes through streets and alleys of the agricultural area of Maia and has several trails on land all of which are technical.
It was a route scenery and beautiful trails that are made at low speed (hourly average of 10 km).
The route starts in Custoias, parish of Matosinhos and then head towards the Monastery of Leca do Bailio, after the cross is a viaducts flying over Highway and soon entered the city of Maia. Then there is the ride on roads in parallel and dirt tracks, always in the forest to survive. Note that we pass on some tracks of a Raid mountain biking that in 2014 did (Raid of Maia Folgosa), then the group walk in the pine forests of the Industrial Zone of Maia and even made part of the journey along the lines of train connected the port there Trofa. After bike riding about 4 hours the group arrived at their destination ,.
Very good this route already the group begins to think about repeating, but this time at higher speeds, in order to enjoy the descents and technical climbs that he has.
On Sunday, April 5 (Easter Day), I, my brother Henry and Xavi, (Porto elements on the wheel), we decided to do a workout using the alleys of the old Foz and alleys of Massarelos and Lapa. Was the floor to rediscover the streets and alleys still holding out in the city of Porto. The output was the residence of Xavi in Ramalde and soon the guys headed to the Tasca Badalhoca for coffee. After the tour was to continue down the Avenida Marechal Gomes da Costa, soon after entering a rail on the ground (one of the few that still exist) in the area of Foz, then start the descents and ascents (some well durinhas) in the region Old Foz. After completed these courses always we head along the Douro River to Massarelos and logo next to the old building were refrigerated cod, begin to rise again (and well), to the panoramic route, using a part of the romantic paths. Having reached the top continue to Rotunda da Boavista, go up the street Our Lady of Fatima, and soon began to enter the narrow streets and alleys Lapa District. Was over the tour and then we headed home down the Boavista Street, past the Rotunda da Boavista, down the Avenida da Boavista, to then get home from Xavi. My brother and I continue to ride together to his house, since I had waiting for me (offered by him), two bottles of white wine, one white and one rose. Next was the return to my home. It was a good ride in an area which, for a long time did not pass and I liked much to revive. It was worth more this tour, in the company of two good BTTistas and which like a lot of pedaling.
